Gomoa Kyiren (C/R), Sept 14, GNA – A Group of the former Ahantaman Seconadry School Past Students Association in the Western Region, have donated 30 bags of cement towards the construction of a community centre for the people of Gomoa Kyiren in the Central Region.
According to a spokesperson for the group, their action was in support of their best friend, Osabarima Bondam-Adu Entsenyi Joshua II, the Chief of Gomoa Kyiren and staunch member of the Ahantaman Secondary School Past Students Association in his developmental activities.
He stressed the group’s determination to maintain and effectively sustain the existing bonds of cordial relationship between them and the Chief, who is also the Sahene of the Gomoa Assin Traditional Area.
The event formed part of activities which marked this Year`s ‘’Ahobakese” Afahye Festival of the Chiefs and people of Gomoa Kyiren.
At the same function, Leaders of Gomoa Kyiren branch of the Church of Pentecost, also pledged 10 bags of cement towards the implementation of the community centre project.
Responding to the gesture from the contributors, Osabarima Bondam- Adu Entsenyi Joshua expressed his appreciation to the donors, and assured them that the materials would be purposefully utilised.
He appealed to Kyiren citizens at home and outside and well-wishers of the Town to emulate the example of the donors.
Osabarima Bondam-Adu Entsenyi Joshua commended members of the festival planning and implementation committee for their good work and hope they would maintain the spirit to chalk more successes in future festivals.
