Accra, Feb. 28, GNA - The price of sachet water will go up from Tuesday, March 1, 2011 because of rising cost of production, according to the
National Association of Sachet and Packaged Water Producers (NASPAWAP).
The new retail price for a bag of 30 sachets will be GH¢1.50 while the price of chilled sachet water will be GHp 0.10.
\"The Executive...wishes to inform the consuming public that due to the ever increasing cost of production due largely to increases in fuel and labour costs, as well as increase in the cost of other inputs, the Association has adjusted upward the price of sachet water effective March 1, 2011,\" it said in statement signed on Sunday by Mr Magnus Nunoo, National Chairman.
It said due cognisance had been given to the recent marginal reduction in utility tariff.
It directed all regional Associations to ensure that the price ceiling is strictly adhered to.
\"Any future changes in input cost which would necessitate any adjustment in price would be duly communicated to all,\" the statement said.
The new price of chilled sachet water was agreed in consultation with the Pure and Iced Water Sellers Association (PIWSA).
