      Accra, Sep. 13, GNA – The organizers of the 2011/2012 MTN FA Cup have unveiled the nominees for honours at the Awards Gala fixed for Friday, August 15 at the Banquet Hall, State House, Accra.

       

      Winners New Edubiase are the most dominant force in the nominations with representation in most of the categories.

       

      Edubiase captain Moro Ibrahim and defender Samuel Abeiku Ainooson face stiff opposition from Ashantigold’s Ivorian-import Didier Kore for the topmost award, Most Valuable Player.

       

      According to organizers, defender of the tourney will be contested between  Ainooson of New Edubiase and Ashantigold duo, Lawrence Lartey and Henry Enchill.

       

      Best Goalkeeper award is a two-horse race between Fatau Dauda of Ashantigold and Iddrisu Salia of New Edubiase, Daniel Awuni of Danbort FC is favoured to pick the top scorer prize where as Tema Youth and New Edubiase are in contention for the highest scoring club gong.

       

      The referee of the tourney will be picked amongst Joseph Lamptey, Samuel Suker and Charles Nii Tagoe whilst Abdul S. Malik, Ben Vormawor and Kennedy Bentil contend for the Best Assistant Referee award.

       

      The Best Match Commissioner will either be Bills G. Awuakye or Francis Brobbey whilst Yaw Acheampong (Ashantigold), Anthony Commey (New Edubiase), Abu Yussif (Wassaman) ans Hans Van der Plyum (Berekum Chelsea) battle it out for the best coach.

       

      The discovery of the tourney has Edubiase duo Bernard Ofori and Ebenezer Ofori, Jordan Mintah (Wassaman), Victor Ayire (Amidaus) and Ashitey Ollenu (Hearts of Oak) as contenders.

       

      New Edubiase it will be recalled beat Ashantigold by a lone goal to win the 2011/2012 edition of the knockout competition.
