Half Assini(W/R), Feb. 5, GNA - The Engineer in charge of the Jomoro Television Station Mr Edward Tando has called on the Jomoro District Assembly to provide the funds for the construction of the Digital Television Station in the District.
According to Mr Tando, the construction of a station at Tikobo No. one has become necessary due to the constant breakdown of the Analogue TV station at Half Assini.
Mr Tando made the call in an interview with the Ghana News Agency (GNA) at Half Assini to explain why most television viewers in the area could not witness the live telecast of the commissioning of Ghana\'s first oil from the Jubilee Field.
He said in order to switch to Digital TV by 2015, all Metropolitan, Municipal and District Assemblies are to provide the necessary structures including Transmission Room, resting room, generator room and staff quarters whiles the Ghana Broadcasting Corporation provides the equipment and staff.
Mr Tando expressed the regret that after six months that the Assembly was asked put up the structure, they are yet to provide them.
The Jomoro District Chief Executive, Mr Victor Kablan in an interview with the GNA said the structure would be constructed as soon as the funds are ready.
