LAGOS, Dec. 14 (Xinhua/GNA) - A presidential
candidate in Nigeria on Thursday faulted his non-inclusion in the planned
presidential debate being organized by the Nigeria Elections Debate Group.
Omoyele Sowore, the presidential candidate of African Action Congress, told reporters in Lagos that it was unfair that he was excluded from the debate being organized in collaboration with the Broadcasting Organization of Nigeria.
Sowore, who is the publisher of Sahara Reporters, an online media platform, maintained that he was ready for debates on the election.
According to him, he will continue to pressure the organizers until his name is listed among the participants in the debate.
He emphasized that he was the most prepared and popular among all the candidates and wondered why his name would not be included in the list.
He also called on Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari to give assent to the electoral act as passed by the National Assembly, in order to improve transparency in the 2019 elections.
