Abidjan, March 14,
(AIP/GNA) – The Ivorian government has reorganized the way in which public
expenditure controllers, now called "fiscal sustainability", work in
the context of programming and budgeting.
A decree adopted in the Council of Ministers provides guidelines in terms of the implementation of financial and budgetary controls at the level of institutions, public administrations, national public institutions and local authorities.
The goal is to speed up budget execution procedures, prevent mismanagement and control of budgetary risks.
Sustainability of public finances focuses on the ability of a state to remain solvent, that is to say, to retain sufficient budgetary room to manoeuvre, to honour its commitments.
